Scotland’s Playlist is back for 2023
26 Jan 2023Scottish Rugby is excited to announce the three bands who have been invited to play at BT Murrayfield ahead of this year’s Guinness Six Nations fixtures, as part of our Scotland’s Playlist initiative.
Scotland’s Playlist returns to once again give Scottish musicians and bands the opportunity to play in front of thousands of rugby supporters in the fan village at BT Murrayfield, celebrating all that’s good about the country’s talent.
First up for Scotland’s opening home game against Wales on Saturday 11th February will be multi-talented duo The Eves.
This Scottish pop duo comprises Caroline Gilmour and Marissa Keltie. Previously successful solo artists, 2018 established them as one of the UK’s most exciting song-writing duos with their uplifting, melodic stand-out brand, which Jim Gellatly from Amazing Radio described as “glistening pop music with delightful harmonies.”
The duo has opened for Skerryvore, Belinda Carlisle, Horse, and The Shires, as well as playing at The Forth Awards, TRNSMT Festival, King Tuts Summer Nights, Country to Country, Tiree Music Festival and more.
Their 2022 single Big Love commanded attention from mainstream national radio stations. It has been officially adopted as the anthem for Scottish Women’s Football for the 2022/2023 League Season and was featured on BBC Scotland’s most popular football show ‘Off the Ball’.
Dunfermline-based Moonlight Zoo will return to the North Stage to get the BT Murrayfield crowd dancing when Scotland take on Ireland on Sunday 12th March.
Formed in 2016, Moonlight Zoo have taken their show to every corner of the UK and have performed at major festivals including Isle of Wight, TRNSMT and Kendal Calling.
After performing at the opening game against Australia in the Autumn Nations Series, we’re thrilled to have Moonlight Zoo providing their anthemic music at BT Murrayfield once again.
Their first single “Breaking or Broken” was a Radio X Track of the Week and their follow-up single “Wild” was a BBC One Scotland single of the week and led to the band selling out the infamous King Tuts in Glasgow.
Dancing On Tables will bring their anthemic, high energy sound back to BT Murrayfield around the Italy fixture on Saturday 18th March.
Named one of Variety’s ’10 Brits to Watch’, Dancing On Tables are a five-piece pop-rock band, who have gone from playing at friend’s parties and school halls to supporting Catfish and the Bottlemen as part of their UK arena tour.
Their trademark live sound has seen sold-out dates across the UK, as well as festival bills including the likes of Latitude and Kendal Calling. They also played in the Autumn Nations Series, before and after Scotland’s sold-out game against the All Blacks.
Dancing On Tables recently released their debut album ‘Colour In The Grey’; the release has seen the band become the sound of a Schuh campaign, a multi-year Scottish Water advertising campaign and a spot on playlists such as New Music Friday, The Pop List and Breaking Alternative.
As well as performing live at BT Murrayfield, all the bands will be featured in the match day programme, on the big screen in the stadium bowl and on Scottish Rugby’s digital channels throughout the Guinness Six Nations. The artists will also be given tickets to the matches, along with a fee for performing.
