Former Scotland Women’s Team Manager, Rosy Hume, has joined the Scottish Rugby Council with immediate effect.Rosy was elected to fill the position of Scottish Women’s Forum Representative on the Council which was vacated by Dee Bradbury following her election as Vice President at 2016 AGM.A former player with Heriot-Watt University and Murrayfield Wanderers, Rosy was involved with the Scotland Women team for four years as Team Manager between 2000-2004. Currently working as an Acting Head Teacher in Edinburgh she was also a Board member on the SWRU during its amalgamation with Scottish Rugby.She was nominated by Murrayfield Wanderers for the Council vacancy and seconded by Grangemouth Stags and Edinburgh University Ladies.Scottish Rugby Council member, Rosy Hume, said: “I took some time away from rugby to start a family and decided to apply for the Council vacancy with a view to involving myself in the development of the game across the country. “Rugby has always played an important role in my life, having provided me with a sense of community and long-lasting friendships.I’m looking forward to working as a member of the Council and acting as a voice for the women’s game. It has improved significantly with the induction of Scotland’s first full-time professional women’s player, Jade Konkel, and the development of the BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy.” Rosy’s initial term on Council will run from now to the 2019 Scottish Rugby AGM.
