Scottish Rugby is hosting a series of rugby camps over the Easter schools’ break, for under-14 and under-15 players across the country, focussing on the key national themes. The development programme is now in its fourth year of delivery.Upwards of 1600 young players have been nominated by their clubs’ and schools’ to take part in the camps at 11 locations across Scotland. These camps are a key part of the core proposals on academies presented by Scottish Rugby in its policy initiatives. The hand-catch, ball-presentation, offload and individual tackle have been highlighted as the four key national themes. These are the skills thought to be very important for the development of young players to encourage a fast and fluid style of rugby.  Scottish Rugby is highlighting these individual skills, as coaches believe that the ability to perform them to a higher level can better prepare players for greater opportunities to contribute in the game, whether it be at their club, school or into the professional reaches of rugby.  Following completion of the camp, all players who have participated will receive an individual report of their progress, noting areas of strengths and work-ons to be considered with their coaches for continued skill development.Following on from the camps, after summer, the under-15 players will move into their respective local under-16 pathway programme, with games taking place in August 2014.The camps will take place at the following venues throughout the schools’ Easter holidays.Rubislaw, Aberdeen Grammar RugbySunnyside,  Falkirk RFCNetherdale, Gala RFCKellands Park, Garioch RFCLaigh Bent, Hamilton RFCCanal Park, Highland RFCFullarton Park, Marr RFCMeadowmill Sports Centre, East LothianMurrayfieldPickaquoy Playing Fields, Orkney RFCSt Andrews University
