Young Scottish rugby fans have the perfect chance to watch the latest re-enactment of international rugby’s oldest rivalry next month. Scotland A travel to Twickenham to take on England Saxons in the Barclays Churchill Cup on Monday 28 May (kick-off 3pm) and under-16s are being admitted to the match for just£1, provided they’re accompanied by an adult. The Scotland A team will be coached by Scotland head coach Frank Hadden and he welcomed the initiative. He said: “Fair play to the RFU. We all know how intense the rivalry is between Scotland and England – we’ve been playing each other at international level since 1871 – and to give youngsters the chance to savour that atmosphere for just£1 is terrific. “We’ll be announcing our provisional squad for the competition this week and given the number of players who missed out on the RBS 6 Nations through injury, we’ll be looking at giving some of them game time during the Barclays Churchill Cup so it will be a strong Scotland A squad. This is the first time that the Barclays Churchill Cup has been staged in England. Scotland A made their debut in the competition last season – when it was held in Canada  – and posted victories over England and Canada en route to losing to New Zealand Maori in the final. Last summer Scotland A were captained by Rory Lawson (Gloucester) who made his first start for Scotland in the concluding game to this season’s Six Nations Championship, against France in Paris. Adult tickets for the match are available at£10 and£20 and are on sale now alongside tickets for under-16s from Ticketmaster (Tel 0870 902 0000) or via their website www.ticketmaster.co.uk Scotland A open their Barclays Churchill Cup campaign against the USA at Henley RFC on Wednesday 23 May, kick-off 6pm.The finals of the Barclays Churchill Cup take place at Twickenham on Saturday 2 June. Speaking on the introduction of the one-off£1 ticket offer at Twickenham the RFU’s Business Operations Director Paul Vaughan, said: “This is a special match with some of England and Scotland’s brightest young stars in action, so why not enable the rugby fans of the future to come to Twickenham and enjoy it, especially on a Bank Holiday. “We are offering kids a unique chance to come to Twickenham for less than a bag of sweets.
