Round 16 begins this Saturday when Edinburgh Accies welcome Glasgow Hawks to Raeburn Place.

Edinburgh Accies began the new year on the right foot last week when they secured a convincing 28-5 win over their eastern neighbours Musselburgh.

It was a tough day at the office for Glasgow Hawks in their first match of the year when they left Malleny Park with a 34-17 loss against their hosts Currie Chieftains.

The game finished with a one try difference the last time the two sides met as Edinburgh Accies travelled home with the spoils.

Edinburgh Accies v Glasgow Hawks – 2pm, Raeburn Place

This Saturday sees an exciting game ahead when current first place Hawick welcome second place Currie Chieftains to Mansfield Park.

Last weekend saw Hawick keep up their undefeated record and walk away with a convincing 10-29 win over their hosts Marr.

It was success for Currie Chieftains too last weekend when they hosted Glasgow Hawks and gave a home crowd a 34-17 win to celebrate.

A dominant Hawick lived up to their unbeaten name the last time the two met in October, securing a 25-46 win over their hosts.

Hawick RFC v Currie Chieftains – 2pm, Mansfield Park

It’s seventh versus eighth this weekend at Riverside Park when Jed-Forest welcome GHA to their stomping grounds.

Jed-Forest will be hoping to bring the same energy that got them a 24-30 win over Heriot’s Blues last weekend to their home on Saturday.

Last weekend, GHA suffered a narrow defeat when they hosted Selkirk and found themselves with a four-point deficit against their opponents on the final whistle.

It was a high-scoring affair the last time the two met but ultimately GHA pleased their home supporters with 49-36 win over the Jedburgh based side.

Jed-Forest RFC v GHA RFC – 3pm, Riverside Park

Saturday is full of crucial games as bottom of the table Musselburgh welcome second bottom Heriot’s Blues to Stoneyhill.

Musselburgh will be channelling a winning mentality this week after they suffered at the hands of a dominant Edinburgh Accies last Saturday, leaving with a 28-5 defeat.

Heriot’s Blues will also be hoping for success this week after their tough blow against a strong Jed-Forest who left Goldenacre with 24-30 triumph.

It was a close game the last time the two met but in the end Heriot’s Blues came out on top with a 34-26 victory at home.

Musselburgh RFC v Heriot’s Blues – 2pm, Stoneyhill

Selkirk will be looking to bag another win this week when they host Marr, who currently sit right below them in the table.

It was a close call for Selkirk last weekend but they managed to pull the score in their favour for the final whistle against GHA.

The new year started with a tough loss for Marr last weekend when their visitors Hawick proved too strong for the Troon based side.

Selkirk were the victorious the last time the two met in mid-October, securing a 19-28 win in the bag when the eighty minutes were through.

Aberdeen Grammar will be hoping to profit on a home crowd when they welcome third in the table Melrose to Rubislaw this weekend.

After a very convincing win over GHK last weekend, Highland travel back down south to face Biggar on Saturday.

Only two points on the table separate Dundee and Stirling County, so both teams will be fighting for a one up on their opponents at the weekend.

GHK will have to pull out all the stops this weekend when they welcome borders side Gala to Old Anniesland.

It’s top versus bottom in Kelso this Saturday when Stewart’s Melville travel to face the borders outfit.

Watsonians will have to give it their all this weekend as their visitors Ayr come with confidence from their one-point win over Melrose last Saturday.
