Tennent’s League preview | 9 & 10 October 2021

8 Oct 2021

Here’s everything you need to know about what’s coming up on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 October.

It’s time for Round 6 in the men’s Tennent’s Premiership league.

Aberdeen Grammar will venture south to Mansfield Park, looking to walk away with their first win of the season against Hawick.

Aiming to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat against Currie Chieftans, Edinburgh Academical will host GHA.

Marr will look to extend their lead in the table standings as they visit Selkirk RFC this weekend.

And elsewhere in the competition, Jed-Forest welcome Musselburgh to Riverside Park and Glasgow Hawks will face Currie Chieftans.

Turning to the men’s Tennent’s National 1 competition, Watsonian’s venture north in hope of earning their first win of the season against Highland.

Hosting their opposition this weekend, Heriot’s Blues welcome Ayr to Goldenacre, with a slightly earlier kick-off time of 1pm, and Boroughmuir take on Stirling Wolves.

And finally, competition leaders Melrose take on Cartha Queen’s Park and Kelso host Biggar.

All games in the Tennent’s Premiership and National 1 leagues (with the exception of Heriot’s v Ayr) are set to kick off at 3pm on Saturday 9 October.

Round 5 of the women’s Tennent’s Premiership will get underway this weekend starting with Stirling County who will welcome Watsonian’s to Bridgehaugh.

Heriot’s Blues will look to capitalise on their first win of the season last weekend as they take on Cartha Queen’s Park on Sunday.

And finally, a top of the table battle will take place at Hughenden as Hillhead Jordanhill host Corstorphine Cougars.

Kicking-off their sixth round of competition is the women’s Tennent’s National 1 league.

Just two will take place in this league this weekend as Annan Warriors concede a 28-0 victory to Garioch with insufficient player numbers, and West of Scotland and Stewartry have agreed to reschedule their previously arranged game.

But it’s game on for Howe of Fife who host Kelso at Duffus Park, whilst Ayr make their way across to the east to face Broughton.

All games in the Tennent’s Premiership and National 1 leagues are set to kick off at 2pm on Sunday 10 October.
