Tennent’s Men’s Premiership

Heriot’s Blues will be looking to continue their good form after back-to-back wins when they host Glasgow Hawks.

Heriot’s beat Edinburgh Academical, who were top of the league at the time, 29-26 last weekend.

Hawks sit fifth in the table, with four wins and four losses in the competition so far. They were 31-19 winners against Heriot’s on the first day of the season in Glasgow.

Heriot’s Blue Head Coach Phil Smith said: “I’m sure Andy Hill will have his squad fully charged for the trip to Goldenacre.

“Hawks bring a real physical challenge to the fixture calendar and we know we will need to add even more to last week’s output, which the boys are prepared to do with a week off in waiting for them.”

Heriot’s Blues v Glasgow Hawks – Goldenacre, 3pm 

League leaders Hawick travel to Selkirk for a Borders derby.

The two sides drew 20-20 at Mansfield Park to get their seasons underway.

Hawick are still unbeaten in the league, winning seven games on the bounce since that opening draw.

Selkirk sit fourth, with five wins and two losses since the draw.

Selkirk v Hawick – Philiphaugh, 3pm

Second-placed Edinburgh Academical travel to eighth-placed GHA.

Accies were top of the table last weekend, but dropped down a place after a 29-26 loss to Heriot’s Blues.

GHA picked up a third win of the season last weekend away to Musselburgh.

GHA v Edinburgh Academical – Braidholm, 3pm 

Musselburgh will be hoping to pick up a first win of the season when they host seventh-placed Marr.

Musselburgh have picked up four try bonus points and a losing bonus points, but sit seven points adrift of Heriot’s Blues at the bottom.

Defending champions Marr lost by a single point to Jed-Forest last time out.

Musselburgh v Marr – Stoneyhill, 3pm 

Third-placed Currie Chieftains travel to sixth-placed Jed-Forest.

Currie picked up a sixth win of the season away to Selkirk last weekend.

Jed-Forest won a tight game 32-31 at home to Marr last Saturday.

Currie won the reverse fixture 52-12 at Maleny Park on the opening day.

Tennent’s Men’s National League Division 1

Aberdeen Grammar will be looking for a second consecutive victory when they host Dundee, having picked up their first win at home to Stewart’s Melville last weekend.

Second placed Ayr could jump up to first on points difference with a win at home to GHK.

Watsonians could jump up four places if they win at home to Biggar.

Fourth-placed Melrose could jump up to second with a win at home to league leaders Kelso.

Fifth-placed Highland could also reach second when they travel to Stirling County.

Third-placed Gala are also seeking second place when they travel to Stewart’s Melville, who are chasing a second win of the season.

This weekend, Aberdeen Grammar v Dundee kicks off at 12pm, Stirling v Highland kicks off at 1pm, and Watsonians v Biggar starts at 2pm. The remaining fixtures all kick off at 3pm.
