Tennent’s Men’s Premiership & National leagues preview | 26 November

25 Nov 2022

Find out all you need to know ahead of another weekend of Tennent's Men's Premiership and National League Division 1 action.

Tennent’s Men’s Premiership

Teams will be experiencing a case of Deja vu this week as they are set to play the same rivals as they did last weekend.

It was a tough blow for Edinburgh Accies last weekend when their score was trumped by their opponents Currie (50-18).

This week’s hosts – Edinburgh Accies – will be desperate to use playing on home soil to their advantage against their neighbours.

Meanwhile Currie will be looking to continue their success this weekend away from home.

Edinburgh Accies v Currie Chieftains – 2pm, Raeburn Place

After such a close final score last weekend (19-24), it’s a Glasgow derby yet again when Glasgow Hawks take the short trip to GHA.

GHA will be looking to profit off their five-point victory last week when they welcome their familiar foes to Braidholm.

The memory of such a narrow defeat may be just what Glasgow Hawks need to get what could be their sixth win.

GHA RFC v Glasgow Hawks – 2pm, Braidholm

With only two points separating the final score last week (22-20), it’s all to play for when Heriot’s Blues host Marr this Saturday.

Marr pleased a home crowd last weekend when they picked up a two-point advantage on their visitors.

Perhaps being within touching distance of a win last Saturday will light the spark inside Heriot’s Blues that is needed for success this week.

Heriot’s Blues v Marr RFC – 2pm, Goldenacre

Jed-Forest will have to give it their all when they host their mirroring match against Selkirk this weekend.

The Jedburgh based outfit will be desperate to redeem themselves in front of a home crowd after Selkirk proved too strong (36-10).

With only three points between them and Edinburgh Accies on the league table, Selkirk will be pulling out all the stops to gain another win.

Jed-Forest RFC v Selkirk RFC – 3pm, Riverside Park

Musselburgh will be counting on their familiar home soil and vocal supporters this weekend when they welcome top of the table Hawick to Stoneyhill.

It was another tough shift for Musselburgh last weekend when they were left with a fifty-point deficit against their hosts (55-5).

Hawick’s season success was supplemented yet again by a staggering win, proving why the borders-based team currently deserve the top spot.

Tennent’s Men’s National League Division 1

Aberdeen Grammar Rugby will be looking to get back on track when they host Biggar this weekend after their match against Highland was postponed due to a water-logged pitch.

With only one point between them, it’s all to play for this Saturday when second in the table Ayr host table leaders Kelso at Millbrae.

GHK will be looking for success to overtake Stirling County and their hosts Dundee on the league table this weekend.

After a convincing win over Stewart’s Melville last week, Melrose will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they host neighbours Gala on Saturday.

Last weekend saw a game-postponement for Stirling County and a loss for Stewart’s Melville, meaning both teams will be hunting for success when they play each other at Bridgehaugh.

It’ll be an exciting game when Watsonians host Highland this Saturday after both clubs faced postponements last weekend.
