What’s on this week

4 May 2020

This is what you can read, watch, learn and listen #AsOneAtHome this week across the Scottish Rugby, Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh channels.

Take a read through the plans below and schedule in your rugby reads and games to watch.

Scottish Rugby

Every day this week Scottish Michelin star chef Tom Kitchin will be showing you how to make a different recipe at home and sharing some of his top tips to help you along the way. Look out for the articles on scottishrugby.org from today.

There will be another quiz to test your rugby knowledge on Tuesday on @ScotlandTeam Instagram Story and our midweek game on Wednesday night is last year’s encounter between Scotland Women and Japan. Tune in on Facebook or YouTube from 7pm BST.

Look out for an exclusive interview with Scotland U20 captain, Rory Darge on scottishrugby.org later this week as he talks about this year’s U20 Six Nations campaign.

Joining Al Kellock, Chris Paterson and Jamie McMillan on The Official Scottish Rugby Podcast this week are former Scotland internationals, Greig Laidlaw and Johnnie Beattie, who talk about what they’ve been doing during lockdown and what it’s like to play rugby in France.

On Friday night, we’ve got another classic Scotland match for you to enjoy as-live on YouTube and Facebook at 7pm BST and this week we’re going back to 2010 and a famous match between Scotland and Ireland at Croke Park in Dublin.

Edinburgh

A new week of Edinburgh Rugby content begins with the latest It’s Good 2 Give Local Hero shared on the club’s website and social channels, amplifying the great work of those making the biggest difference in our communities.

On Tuesday, supporters will be able to vote for their favourite Capital Classic try from April via the club’s Try of the Month vote on Twitter, before #WallpaperWednesday returns midweek, giving fans the chance to download a custom Edinburgh Rugby background for their phones!

Hear from Fijian winger Eroni Sau on Thursday with the latest Player Focus written feature, while we finish the working week another addition of #StayAtHome, this time featuring Scotland international prop, Murray McCallum.

Finally, Saturday is once again game day as we relive another Capital Classic, with Edinburgh Rugby’s Champions Cup match away to Newcastle Falcons from December 2018 streamed as-live on Facebook and YouTube at 3pm.

Glasgow Warriors

Glasgow Warriors will be looking back at the club career of the legend that is DTH van der Merwe this week, following the announcement that the Canadian will be leaving the club at the end of the 2019/20 season. An in-depth interview with the club’s record try-scorer is available to read right now over on glasgowwarriors.org, whilst the man himself will re-live his top five tries in Glasgow colours all this week on the club’s social media channels.

#TriviaTuesday returns for another week across Glasgow Warriors’ channels, with a host of activities for fans young and old to get stuck into. Resident stats supremo Kevin Millar (@topofthemoongw) will also be providing another brain-teasing quiz for the Warrior Nation to test themselves against.

Glasgow Warriors back-rower Matt Fagerson will be taking the reins of the club’s Instagram this Thursday, as we accompany the Scotland star over the course of his day from his training routine to how he relaxes.

Friday evening will see the latest instalment of The Rewind Series become available to watch across all channels, with the Warrior Nation able to re-live some famous moments against Ulster at the Kingspan Stadium.

Finally, we’re rolling back the clock to January 2018 for this weekend’s #WarriorsReloaded as Glasgow Warriors welcome Exeter Chiefs to Scotstoun in the Heineken Champions Cup. Fans of free-flowing rugby will not want to miss this one, as perennial play-off contenders from the Premiership and the Guinness PRO14 go head-to-head in Europe’s premier club competition. Watch the match in full from 3pm this Sunday on the club’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
