Rennie On Scotland Call-Up
Edinburgh’s ‘magnificent seven’ Ross Rennie has been_named in_Scotland’s squad for Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations match against Ireland at Croke Park, kick off 5pm and the 21-year-old says he is thrilled by the call-up.The former Edinburgh Academy graduate has been one of the club’s stand-out performers so far this season and was voted Sponsors’ Man of the Match in Friday’s defeat against Munster.As a result of his form, Rennie has been handed a place on the bench for the Test match in Dublin in a Scotland squad with a strong Edinburgh flavour; nine of the 22 players are from The Castle.And Rennie admits he is incredibly proud to be on the verge of winning his inaugural cap for his country, although he revealed he thought his Test debut would happen at a later point in his career.Rennie said: I didn’t think I’d get an international call-up this season – it is a huge honour.
