Scotland Squad Update
Gordon Reid, the 25-year-old Glasgow Warriors prop, has been invited to train with the Scotland squad at Murrayfield today as preparations intensify for Sunday’s opening EMC Test of the season against New Zealand.Reid, who joined the Warriors at the start of last season, and who scored a cracking try in Glasgow’s win against the Dragons at the weekend, is a product of the Ayr club and has also represented the Scotland Club International XV.Scotland team manager Gavin Scott said: “We’ve asked Gordon to train with us today as Kyle Traynor played for his club, Bristol, yesterday and will thus follow our usual protocol and not be training with the squad today.”Kelly Brown, the Scotland captain, was involved in his club, Saracens’ match yesterday against Wasps so he too will resume Scotland team training on Tuesday. All other Scotland players took part in this afternoon’s training other than lock Richie Gray, who undertook an individual programme with the squad’s medical team, following on from his ankle rehabilitation work over the last week. The Scotland team to play New Zealand will be announced tomorrow (Tuesday 6 November).
