Scotland Update
Nine players joined the 25 who were on duty in Paris last weekend as Scotland began their preparations at Murrayfield today for Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations Championship home match against Wales. Backs Rory Lamont (Toulon), Simon Danielli (Ulster), Alex Grove (Worcester), Jack Cuthbert (Bath) and Greig Laidlaw (Edinburgh) and forwards Johnnie Beattie, Jon Welsh (both Glasgow Warriors), Geoff Cross (Edinburgh) and Scott Lawson (Gloucester) were on hand for a skills session on the stadium’s back pitches this afternoon. Scotland team doctor James Robson reported that scrum-half Rory Lawson was continuing his recovery following the back injury that forced his departure at half-time at the Stade de France. Lawson did not train with the squad today but Dr Robson is pleased with his progress to date. Wingers Max Evans (dead leg) and Nikki Walker (knee) also both sat out squad training and will be subject to further assessment but are expected to resume training later this week. Tickets are still on sale for Saturday’s match via this website.
