Scottish Rugby delighted for Hogg and Seymour
Scotland and Glasgow Warriors backs Stuart Hogg and Tommy Seymour were today named in the 41-man British & Irish Lions touring squad bound for New Zealand this summer.Scottish Rugby is delighted the hard work and excellent performances at both club and national level of Stuart and Tommy have been recognised with selection for the 2017 Lions Tour.In what has undoubtedly been one of the most fiercely contested selection processes in recent memory, both Scottish Rugby and Scottish fans are proud these players have merited selection.Playing the World Champions at home is the biggest test in rugby and Warren Gatland has assembled a squad he believes can win in New Zealand.There were clearly a number of Scottish players under consideration who unfortunately have not made the trip.We will continue to develop the Scottish team, and rugby in Scotland, to ensure there are always players challenging for future selection.We wish all the 2017 Lions, players and coaches, the very best for the forthcoming tour.
