Scottish Rugby launch new-look RugbyRight

Scottish Rugby has today launched a new-look RugbyRight training course for all coaches and match officials in Scotland, which focuses on player welfare and safety standards. The online course, introduced in 2015, acts as the minimum standard for coaches and referees and will include NSPCC Scotland Child Protection training and warm-up routines designed to dramatically prevent injury for season 2017/18.Rugby Right will be hosted on the Scottish Rugby Online Training Hub (powered by Hive Learning) for the first time, where over 5000 coaches and referees from across Scotland currently access interactive resources. The course also places emphasis on concussion management, law amendments, age banding policies, safe coaching practices and anti-doping.Scottish Rugby’s Training and Education Manager, Neil Graham, said: “We have expanded our RugbyRight training course to incorporate wider Child Protection and injury prevention training for all coaches and match officials across the country. We are looking forward to delivering yet another comprehensive training course focused on player welfare and safety in rugby.”In line with Scottish Rugby policy, all coaches and match officials are required to complete RugbyRight by 31 October 2017. For further information, please visit: http://www.scottishrugby.org/domestic-rugby/player-welfare/rugbyright
