Scottish Rugby launches 2018/19 RugbyRight
Scottish Rugby’s 2018/19 RugbyRight e-learning course has now been launched on its online training hub (Hive Learning).
Coaches and match officials will have the option of three courses to complete, depending on their environment – Mini, Youth and Adult.
There is also a standalone Child Protection foundation level course (accredited by NSPCC) for those who are new to the game this season.
Introduced in 2015, the RugbyRight course acts as the minimum standard for coaches and match officials and can be found in a new e-learning group within the online training hub (Hive Learning).
Those who operate within more than one age group (e.g. mini and adult) are only required to complete one course to be compliant.
The courses include accredited NSPCC Scotland Child Protection refresher training, concussion awareness, age grade law variation trial information, and warm-up routines designed to dramatically reduce the number of injuries.
Scottish Rugby Coach Development Officer, James Wade, said: “We are looking forward to continuing the delivery of this comprehensive training course focused on player welfare and safety in rugby.
“This latest change to the RugbyRight course reflects Scottish Rugby’s commitment to providing up-to-date and relevant information and materials for coaches and match officials across the country to ensure that everyone in the game has Player Welfare as a priority in all they do.”
Coaches and match officials have until Wednesday 31 October to complete the course.
