Willem Petrus (WP) Nel is a South African-born tighthead prop who made his debut for the national team in 2015 in the Summer Tests against Italy, becoming a mainstay of the Scotland set-up since.
He was named in the 2015 World Cup squad and played every game, including a pool stage try against USA as Scotland reached the quarter-finals, before featuring in all four matches of the 2019 Rugby World Cup campaign, too.
Known to his teammates as the Squadfather, the durable Nel won a 50th cap for Scotland against New Zealand in the 2022 Autumn Nations Series and featured at a third Rugby World Cup in France in 2023.
