Big-hearted Earlston
Earlston Rugby Club are making a donation to Scottish Rugby’s own charity.
The Tennent’s East Regional League Division 3 club undertook fund-raising at their own sevens tournament earlier this year.
Now they have presented a cheque for £375 to the Murrayfield Injured Players’ Foundation.
The presentation was received by Borders area MIPF trustee Alistair Forsyth (left) from club President Neil McDonald (right).
Mr Forsyth said: “The Foundation is rugby’s way of looking after its own as, sometimes, an injury in a match can mean that a player might not be able to work and financial pressure can be relieved.
“As a club, Earlston players have benefited from the Foundation’s help in the past, so we’re very grateful for their support.
“I’d encourage other clubs to also consider fund-raising for the Foundation.”
