Scottish Rugby
We’ll once again bring you a selection of content across the Scottish Rugby channels over the next seven days, to keep you entertained, educated and informed during lockdown.
Today is the first day of the iPro Hydrate Skills Challenge – we have four different challenges for you to try at home over the next four weeks and we want to see your videos! Post them on social media and tag #AsOneAtHome for the chance to win an iPro Hydrate prize worth £200! Former Scotland captain Greig Laidlaw kicks it all off today, check out Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to see this week’s challenge.
On Tuesday, we’ll have another quiz for you over on Instagram and on Wednesday night at 7pm BST on YouTube and Facebook we’re going to replay the FOSROC Super6 clash between Watsonians Rugby and Stirling County from November 2019.
On Wednesday, you can download the latest Official Scottish Rugby podcast and this week Al Kellock and Jamie McMillan are joined by Scotland Head Coach, Gregor Townsend, who reflects on the Guinness Six Nations and talks about what he has been doing during the lockdown period. Don’t forget to subscribe to get every episode first, as soon as they’re released.
As always you can head to our Fan Zone at scottishrugby.org throughout the week for exclusive interviews and features and we’ll also continue to provide updates for clubs and supporters around COVID-19. There are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including the opportunity to design a future Scotland training top, as well as learn the words to Flower of Scotland.
On Friday night, Scotland captain Stuart Hogg joins former Scotland internationals Al Kellock and John Manson in the Crabbie’s Changing Room to preview our Friday night as-live game – Scotland v Fiji from the 2018 Autumn Tests, powered by BT. Join us #AsOneAtHome to watch the match together from 7pm BST on YouTube or Facebook and don’t forget you can catch up and enjoy previous classic Scotland matches on our YouTube channel, including the Calcutta Cup match in 1990, the dramatic Autumn Tests against New Zealand and Australia from 2017, as well as the famous win over Ireland at Croke Park in 2010.
Edinburgh
Edinburgh Rugby start the week with a new social series, the Edinburgh Rugby x Macron Shirt Cup, which sees some of the club’s classic Macron playing shirts go head-to-head in a bracket tournament, with supporters able to vote for each day’s winner.
On Tuesday, the capital club’s All-Star XV is complete as the back-three is revealed, before #WallpaperWednesday returns midweek alongside the latest Rising Star written article, which this week features scrum-half, Charlie Shiel.
A new Stat Line feature is released on Thursday as the capital key reveal the key numbers behind Luke Crosbie’s standout 2019/20 campaign, while a brand-new episode of All Access returns on Friday. This week, Edinburgh Rugby legends Ally Hogg and Ben Cairns catch up on their time at the club and life after rugby.
Finally – Saturday, as always, is game day, as Edinburgh stream a classic fixture on their Facebook and YouTube channels at 3pm..
Glasgow Warriors
Glasgow Warriors’ resident stats guru Kevin Millar (@topofthemoongw) returns with another brain-teasing quiz for the Warrior Nation this week, as part of #TriviaTuesday across the club’s social media channels. Be sure to check across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram over the course of the day to see how you get on.
A new episode of the club’s official podcast Warriors Weekly will be available to listen to and download on Wednesday evening – keep an eye on the club’s social media channels to find out more about this week’s guest over the coming days.
We’ll be taking another dive into the club’s archive later this week, as we bring you content from years gone by featuring some of your favourite Warriors past and present that may have slipped your mind…
Try-scoring sensation George Horne takes charge of the official Glasgow Warriors Instagram on Thursday, in the latest of the club’s Takeover series. We spend the day with the scrum-half to find out what makes him tick, as well as how he’s keeping fit during the ongoing Guinness PRO14 suspension.
An exclusive piece of content from Warrior – the official magazine of Glasgow Warriors – will be available to read on the club’s website this Saturday, as we bring you news and features from the club and across Scotland.
Finally, the Warrior Nation will be able to re-live one of the most pulsating matches of the 2019/20 season so far in the latest instalment of #WarriorsReloaded. Played out against a formidable backdrop of passionate French supporters, December’s clash with La Rochelle is one not to be missed.
