What they said
Head coach Bryan Easson: “Last weekend’s result was a tough one to take but I can’t fault the passion, determination and belief the squad displayed against Australia.
“We’ve had a really good review this week and we will be looking to make sure we are clinical in executing our game plan against the Black Ferns.
“We’ve got two losing bonus points against two good sides and we are now looking to push on and show everyone that we are still in the fight.”
- Scotland are the only side at the 2021 Rugby World Cup to concede fewer than 20 penalties (18); their tally of seven penalties conceded in their opening game against Wales is the joint-fewest of any team in a match at this year’s tournament, alongside New Zealand who conceded seven against Australia in their first match.
- Rachel Malcolm (Scotland) is the only player to have made 40+ tackles in the Rugby World Cup this year (44), she’s also one of just seven players to win 10 or more lineouts on her own team’s throw.
- Scotland’s Sarah Bonar has won at least two more jackal turnovers than any other player in this year’s Rugby World Cup (5); Bonar has also claimed more lineout takes than any other Scottish player in this year’s tournament (13).
