A penalty from stand-off James Murray proved to be Scotland’s only points on the board after South Africa, with several players boasting Super 14 experience, ran in a flurry of tries. Scotland under-20 head coach Robertson acknowledged there was a sizeable gulf in both class and experience between the two teams. Robertson said: I’ve been involved in age group rugby for a long time and both John Jeffrey and I have never seen such a well oiled machine like the South Africa team. Unfortunately we just could not match their speed and physicality and they were absolutely brutal right throughout the team. We were completely and utterly outplayed in every area against opposition who have got Super 14 experience. Our dressing room looked like a battlefield at the end and we will have to see how bad some of our injuries are because we have stacks of them. Our guys have always had good spirit and we can respond from the result. We need to regroup and prepare for our next match against the USA.
