Scotland to take on England in 2023 Guinness Six Nations opener
The 2023 Guinness Six Nations fixtures have been confirmed and will see Scotland face England on the opening weekend – Saturday 4 February – for the third consecutive year.
Scotland are current holders of the Calcutta Cup following the 20-17 win at BT Murrayfield in February, retaining the trophy following the victory in London in 2021.
Scotland will then face Wales at BT Murrayfield the following weekend, on Saturday 11 February at 4.45pm. The last time Scotland defeated the Welsh on home soil was back in 2017, winning 29-13.
Following a fallow week, Scotland will face the Grand Slam champions France at the Stade de France on Sunday 26 February, kick-off 3pm. Scotland’s last outing in Paris was a success with Gregor Townsend’s men winning in the last match of the 2021 championship.
Two home matches against Ireland and Italy will follow with the first match taking place against Andy Farrell’s side on Sunday 12 March where Scotland will take on one of their 2023 Rugby World Cup pool opponents.
The championship will end with the visit of Italy on Super Saturday where the two sides will kick-off the action on the final day at 12.30pm in front of the BT Murrayfield crowd.
Ticket details for all home fixtures will be announced in due course.
