Scottish Rugby’s Community Recognition Awards sees outstanding volunteers, coaches, players and individuals celebrated for their contribution to our great game on or off the pitch.
Winners of the national awards will be announced at our Community Recognition Awards celebration evening on 24 May, at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
The winners are selected from the Regional Community Recognition Awards by a panel comprised of Rugby Development staff, as well as members of the Club Rugby Board (CRB).
The Spirit of Rugby national award is decided firstly through a nomination process and then deliberated upon by the panel.

Hints and tips for your application
So, what can you do to increase the chances of your nominee being successful?
- Make sure you read the criteria relating to your nomination in full as it contains all the details explaining what the judging panel will be looking for.
- Try not to make your nomination too short or too long. The judging panel needs detail, just not too much. We recommend you aim for between 250 and 500 words, excluding testimonials.
- Make it personal – give the judging panel a real sense of what this person or group of people are like, and how they have made a positive impact.
- Include real world testimonials from people who have benefitted from the good work the person or group you’re nominating have done.
Don’t forget, we’re here if you any questions. Contact us by email at [email protected].
