Tennent’s Premiership and National Leagues
In Tennent’s National League Division 2, Preston Lodge travelled through to Newton Mearns to face Whitecraigs, with the East Lothian side edging the first half before going on to enjoy a 43-14 success that lifts them to fourth in the league standings.

Lasswade welcomed Murrayfield Wanderers to Hawthornden for an East derby and picked up a second win from two, although it was extremely tight and in the end only as much as a point could separate the sides, Lasswade pipping their opponents 17-16.

Edinburgh Accies played host to Jed-Forest at Raeburn Place in the Tennent’s Premiership in what represented both sides’ opening fixture of the season in light of postponements last weekend. Accies ran out 45-19 winners, collecting a try bonus point in the process.

Dundee played out an entertaining, points-laden game with Watsonians at Mayfield, earning their first win of the season and in turn moving up to seventh in the Tennent’s National Division One table.

Tennent’s East Leagues
Lismore got their season off and running in the best possible style, their trip to the borders to face Gala YM RFC reaping a 33-7, bonus point win. Gala won their opener the week before against Liberton and have now won one, lost one from their two fixtures in Tennent’s East Division 3.

Preston Lodge’s 2nd XV got off to a flying start in their Tennent’s East Reserve Division 2 campaign with a 31-0 win over Lasswade. They will next face Melrose Storm, who pipped Edinburgh Accies’ 2nd XV in Edinburgh on the same day.

Tennent’s Caledonia Leagues
Dunfermline made the relatively short trip to Tillicoultry, where hosts Hillfoots were on the wrong side of a narrow defeat, the Fife side coming away with a 17-11 victory and with it, a two-from-two success rate in the early stages of the new campaign.

In Tennent’s Caledonia North Division 3, Garioch welcomed RAF Lossiemouth to Kellands Park in Inverurie for both sides’ second fixture of the season, the visitors eventually earning a 33-15 win to put them joint-top of the standings

Banff made the trip to Elgin to face Moray in Tennent’s Caledonia North Division 2, with the home edging a competitive match 22-12 to ensure their 100% start to the new season continued.

Bannockburn hosted Crieff & Strathearn at Bluebellwood Park in an entertaining, heavy-scoring encounter in which the visitors trailed narrowly at the break, before turning things around and enjoying a terrific second half that saw them end as 50-26 victors.

Tennent’s West Leagues
Dalziel welcomed Oban Lorne to Dalziel Park near Motherwell for their Tennent’s West Division 2 encounter, the visitors nicking the win with a 20-16 success to keep their unbeaten start to the season going. As an aside, Les Barclay made his 600th appearance for Dalziel – well done Les!
