It’s time for Round 8 in the men’s Tennent’s Premiership league.

Musselburgh take on Hawick at Stoneyhill. In a closely-contested league, third-placed Hawick could climb to second or drop to fifth depending on the results this weekend.

After a narrow defeat to Edinburgh Academical last week, Selkirk travel to Glasgow Hawks, who were bonus point winners against GHA in their last outing.

Currie Chieftains could climb to the top of the table with a win when they travel to Riverside Park to take on Jed-Forest.

There is an all-important clash at the bottom end of the table as Aberdeen Grammar host GHA, with the home side seeking their first win of the campaign.

And at the top of the table, league leaders Marr will be hoping to extend a five-match winning streak when they host fourth place side Edinburgh Academical.

Turning to the men’s Tennent’s National 1 league, there is a huge clash at the top of the table with the two Borders teams colliding as second placed Melrose take on fourth placed Gala. Either side could hit the top of the league with a win if other results go their way.

Watsonian FC will be looking to pick up their first win of the season as they host Stirling Wolves, who picked up their second win this campaign against Dundee Rugby last week.

Dundee will hope to bounce back from that loss as they host Ayr, who sit in third place after five bonus points wins and just one loss so far this season. Ayr could also potentially reach the league’s summit with a win.

Boroughmuir and Kelso will both be looking to make up for losses last week when they meet at Meggetland.

Highland will be looking to close the gap on the league leaders when they travel south to face Cartha Queen’s Park, who themselves will be eyeing up a second win of the season.

Both Heriot’s Blues and Biggar will be feeling confident after wins last weekend when they clash at Goldenacre, with Biggar looking to stay top of the league and maintain their unbeaten run so far this season.

All games in the Tennent’s Premiership and National 1 leagues are set to kick off at 3pm on Saturday 23 October.

In the women’s Tennent’s Premiership, third takes on fourth as Watsonian FC hosts Heriot’s Blues. Heriot’s could over take Watsonian’s with a win.

Cartha Queen’s Park will be looking for their first win of the campaign when they travel to second placed Hillhead Jordanhill.

And unbeaten Corstorphine, who have only missed out on two potential points this season, travel to Stirling County, who will be looking to build on a win in their last outing against Watsonian’s.

Previewing the game, Corstorphine Head Coach, Eric Jones said: “It was very much unknown what this season was going to look like, so we’re pleased with where we are just now.

“We’re expecting a tough game from Stirling County this weekend through at Bridgehaugh.

“They’ll be looking to back up their win two weeks ago against Watsonian’s.

“Games between Cougars and Stirling have been really close games over the past few years and its always been a good competition between the two clubs.”

Looking at the women’s Tennent’s National League Division 1, league leaders Garioch, who have 29 out of a possible 30 points so far, travel to Kelso, who will be looking to pick up a second win of the campaign.

Annan host Broughton knowing that a first bonus point win of the season for the hosts could take them above the visiting side.

And Ayr will be looking for a second win of the season when they host Stewarty, who themselves will be looking for a fourth win on the bounce.

All the games this week in the women’s Tennent’s Premiership and National League Division 1 kick off at 2pm.
