Scottish Rugby strengthen Nagasaki ties
Scottish Rugby has further strengthened ties with its strategic Japanese partner after sending rugby balls to every school in the City of Nagasaki. The distribution of 120 balls to senior and junior schools across the city follows up the formal partnership signed between Scottish Rugby and the City of Nagasaki at BT Murrayfield in August this year which will see the Scotland national team hold a preparation camp there before the official start of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.Scotland and Japan have long-standing historic and cultural links and this was further reinforced recently with the registration of an official City of Nagasaki tartan by Scottish Rugby. The design is reflective of Scottish Rugby Union’s own tartan but incorporating the principal colour of the City of Nagasaki. The local city rugby club is planning to incorporate it into their own kit for next season, and can be viewed here.
