Scotland Under-19 head coach Peter Wright today announced his squad for the forthcoming IRB Under 19 World Championship in Belfast, Ireland (4-21 April), saying he is very pleased with the players he has selected. Wright said: Its the right squad for this competition because weve brought together big players with lots of skill and pace. Thats what we need. We learned a lot from our game against Italy (19-13 loss) at the Greenyards last month and weve been working hard on the areas we targeted for development. Scotland have been drawn against France (5 April), Ireland (9 April) and Fiji (13 April) in the three Pool A matches before the knock-out stages commence for the top division (Pool A) on 17 April. On the draw, Wright said: Well take each match as it comes because with the quality of players at our disposal well be able to vary the type of game from close and tight to wide and loose. Were in the top division with the best in the world so there are no easy games for anyone. France are always a quality side at this age-group and taking on the hosts (Ireland) brings its own challenges. Fiji are something of an unknown quantity for us but at this stage Im not overly concerned about that, he added.
