8 Apr 2011
Broughton Women’s Rugby welcome Madras Saints to Wardie Playing Fields this Sunday 10 April in the penultimate game of the season. The twice-postponed National A League game kicks-off at 2pm and a win for the home side will see them leapfrog the visitors in the table standings.Broughton President Mark Brown is delighted at the progress made by Scotland’s newest Women’s side. Brown, in his fifth year as President said, The Girls have achieved lots this year, their first in League Rugby. In the two seasons the team have been together, we have seen some 40 or so young women pull on the Broughton jersey and the team spirit, both on and off the pitch is unrivalled.Brown was encouraged by several players being involved in regional and national selection days and sees the Broughton Women being an integral part of the future of the Scottish game. He added, Women’s Rugby has it’s knockers, but come along to Wardie on Sunday and check out the determination, tough tackling and camaraderie – you’ll be converted!
