Edinburgh Rugby Challenged To Take Home Form On The Road

Edinburgh Rugby head coach Michael Bradley has challenged his players to back up last weekend’s winning performance over champions Munster (29-14) as they travel to face Welsh province, Scarlets, in round six of the RaboDirect PRO12 tomorrow night (kick-off 7.05pm).The head coach has made just one change to the starting line-up for the trip to the Parc y Scarlets, with on-loan prop Shaun Knight coming into the front-row as a straight swap for Lewis Niven, who begins the match on the bench. Two other changes have been made to the bench with Robin Hilsop and Hamish Watson supplanted by Jack Gilding as_the front-row replacement and the experienced back-row Alan MacDonald, who returns to the fold for the first time since May, having completed his return from injury with a run-out for Heriot’s last weekend.Head coach Michael BradleyBradley said: Beating Munster was great and the manner in which we played was very rewarding, keeping the pace of the game up and producing two fantastic tries. We also defended exceptionally well and showed a lot of physicality in attack which gave us space going forward; something weve been bringing into our game and is a key element of our plans going forward. It’s very important that we continue that form and that approach away against Scarlets this weekend.Championship points are crucial to both sides as Edinburgh Rugby travel to Llanelli in search of their first win on the road this season, while their hosts seek to bring a close to a four match losing streak.’scarlets are somewhat hamstrung by their commitment to Wales, with the majority of their backline in New Zealand, so it’s a good opportunity for us to perform well and go for an away win which would be very important to us and our season, added Bradley.I expect a massive challenge from the Scarlets. Theyll look at us as a potential victory at home to close off this period in the RaboDirect PRO12 while well be looking to build on our performance and our result against Munster, so something will have to give.Edinburgh Rugby team to play Scarlets at the Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli tomorrow (Friday 7 October, kick-off 7.05pm)15 Jim Thompson14 Lee Jones13 Matt Scott12 James King11 Tim Visser10 Gregor Hunter9 Greig Laidlaw CAPTAIN1 Kyle Traynor2 Steven Lawrie3 Shaun Knight4 Grant Gilchrist5 Sean Cox6 David Denton7 Roddy Grant8 Stuart McInallySubstitutes16 Alun Walker17 Lewis Niven18 Jack Gilding19 Esteban Lozada20 Alan MacDonald21 Chris Leck22 Phil Godman23 Tom Brown
