Scotland’S Visitors Announced For The 2012 Emc Tests

Scotland’s opponents are confirmed today for next year’s EMC Tests. Rugby World Cup champions and the world’s number one ranked team, New Zealand, will kick-off the series and be welcomed to Murrayfield on the weekend of Saturday 10/Sunday 11 November 2012.The following weekend (Saturday 17/Sunday 18 November) South Africa will return to Murrayfield for the first time since their visit in 2010, which resulted in an epic 21-17 success for Scotland. Our last visitors in next year’s campaign will be Tonga (weekend Saturday 24/Sunday 25 November).    The Pacific islanders ended their Rugby World Cup campaign with a sensational, upset victory over eventual finalists France by 19-14.  Tonga last played a cap Test in Scotland in 2001, when Gordon Ross marked his debut at stand-off with a 23 points haul in a 43-20 victory. Scotland head coach Andy Robinson said: “Once again we have a fixture list for the 2012 EMC Autumn Tests which really whets the appetite as we’ll be engaged in Test match rugby against the cream of the Southern Hemisphere. Before that, of course, we have the 2012 RBS 6 Nations Championship and then our summer tour to Australia, Fiji and Samoa.”Precise details of kick-off times and ticket pricing for the 2012 EMC Tests will be announced in late spring following the 2012 RBS 6 Nations Championship. It’s 78 days until the 2012 championship begins. Scotland have two games at Murrayfield in the RBS 6 Nations Championship this season – against England on Saturday 4 February (kick-off 5pm) and against France on Sunday 26 February (kick-off 3pm). Tickets are currently on sale for the game against France via this website or by calling the 24 hour hotline number 0844 335 3933.
