Horne and Swinson join Scotland summer tour
9 Jun 2014
Glasgow Warriors pair Peter Horne (centre) and Tim Swinson (lock) will join the Scotland squad in Toronto today (Monday) as injury replacements on the 2014 summer tour.Duncan Taylor (calf) and Jim Hamilton (ankle) were injured in Saturday’s 24-6 win over USA in Houston, Texas, and will return home to continue their recovery with Saracens.Scotland head coach, Vern Cotter, said: This is obviously disappointing news for both these players who were keen to impress in the short time they had on this tour.Everyone in the squad wishes them well and a quick recovery. It’s now up to Peter [Horne] and Tim [Swinson] to continue the hard work put in by Duncan [Taylor] and Jim [Hamilton], and take advantage of this opportunity, as we prepare for another Test match.”- – Head coach Vern Cotter.Scotland will play Canada at the BMO Field in Toronto this Saturday (14 June, kick-off 2pm local time, 7pm BST) in the second of four summer Test matches – live on BT Sport 2.The national team will then fly to Argentina to face the Pumas in Cordoba (Friday 20 June) followed by South Africa in Port Elizabeth on Saturday 28 June.
