Pumas squad named for Scotland Test

Argentina head coach Daniel Hourcade today named a 30-man squad for the northern hemisphere tour party, that will land in Scotland for the opening viagogo Autumn Test match at BT Murrayfield on Saturday 8 Novemember (kick-off 5.30pm)The match will be the first Test in the series for both sides – with Scotland facing New Zealand the following Saturday (15 November) at the same venue, before taking on Tonga at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock, the Saturday after that (22 November) – however the Pumas arrive fresh from the intesity of the recent Rugby Championship, in which they registered their first win in the tournament over Australia last month. The game will be a first for Scotland head coach Vern Cotter on home soil, and will be keen to see his charges recapture the form shown in the nation’s 21-19 win over the Pumas in Cordoba during the summer tour, in order to avenge the defeat suffered the last time Argentina visited Murrayfield, in 2009, when they narrowly lost (6-9).The teams have met four times since then, with Scotland winning both Tests during the summer tour to Argentina in 2010 (the first time Scotland had a won a summer tour series), the agonising one-point defeat in the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand followed by this summer’s tour success. In relation to the Pumas squad which was much-improved in this season’s Rugby Championship, Hourcade named five new players: Matías Moroni, Santiago Cordero, Juan Cruz Guillemain, Valdez and Santiago Iglesias Guido Petti. The squad will leave Argentina on Saturday 1 Novembe and will meet in Edinburgh for the first game of their tour.Hourcade said: Scotland have a new coach who took on the mid-year tour, so for us it is a bit of a mystery to know what will be the team that will face us.The reality is that we must keep our feet on the ground. Two of the three rivals are above us in the rankings and have always been competent at the first level. We have to face this with the utmost humility and have respect for the opponent. Also, we’re playing away and rivals will be prepared for an Argentine team, which attracted attention after his victory against Australia.ARGNENTINA TOUR SQUAD to face Scotland in the opening viagogo Autumn Test match at BT Murrayfield on Saturday 8 Novememer (kick-off 5.30pm) N °  FULL NAMECLUBUNION1Horacio AgullaBathRFU2Matias AlemannoLa TabladaCordovan3Marcos Ivan AyerzaLeicester TigersRFU4Rodrigo BaezRC LiceoCuyo5Marcelo BoschSaracensRFU6Santiago CorderoRegatas Bella VistaURBA7Matias CorteseRC LiceoCuyo8Agustín CreevyWorcester Warriors       RFU9Thomas CubelliBelgrano AthleticURBA10   Jerome De la FuenteRC ElvesRosario11Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe    ToulonFFR12Lucas González AmorosinoCardiff BluesWRU13Santiago González IglesiasAlumni AssociationURBA14Juan Cruz GUILLEMAINStade FrancaisFFR15Juan Martín HernándezFreeFree16Ramiro HerreraCastres OlympiqueFFR17Santiago Iglesias ValdezUniversityTucumán18Juan ImhoffRacing MetroFFR19Martin LandajoCASIURBA20Thomas LavaniniRacing MetroFFR21Juan Manuel LeguizamónOlympique LyonFFR22Benjamin MacomeBayonneFFR23Manuel MonteroPucaraURBA24Matías MoroniCUBAURBA25Lucas Noguera PeaceLynx RCTucumán26Guido PettiSICURBA27Nicolás SánchezToulonFFR28Leonardo SenatoreWorcester WarriorsRFU29Nahuel Tetaz ChaparroOlympique LyonFFR30Joaquín TuculetFreeFree
