Rory ready to make good impression at Scotland send-off dinner
The send-off dinner for the Scotland squad competing at this autumn’s Rugby World Cup has now a special added ingredient. The renowned impressionist and satirist, Rory Bremner, will be the after-dinner speaker – or should we say speakers – at the glittering gala dinner at the Radisson Blu hotel in Glasgow. The dinner, being organised by two of Scottish Rugby’s charity partners, the Bill McLaren Foundation and Hearts & Balls, will take place on Thursday 10 September. The entire Scotland squad and management for the world’s third biggest sporting event will be present at the dinner. The event will be hosted by two former Scotland players, scrum-half Rory Lawson and lock Al Kellock, who both captained the team at the last Rugby World Cup in New Zealand four years ago.Former Scotland scrum-half Alan Lawson on behalf of the Bill McLaren Foundation said: In addition to his own razor-sharp wit, I’m sure Rory will ‘bring’ many other sports personalities to the event, proceeds from which will be shared between ourselves and Hearts & Balls.”Tickets for the dinner cost£100 each and can be bought from www.heartsandballs.org.uk or www.billmclarenfoundation.co.uk . Most tables will be configured for ten guests but there is some flexibility for larger or smaller numbers.
