Scotland to compete in Under-20 Summer Series

1 Jun 2022

Scotland U20 will compete in an Under-20 Summer Series, hosted by the FIR, staged in Italy, and split across venues in Verona and Treviso.

Supported by World Rugby, and involving each of the Six Nations Rugby unions, South Africa, and Georgia, the U20 Summer Series will be made up of two pools, three rounds and will end with cross pool matches.

Scotland will feature in Pool B, alongside Wales, Georgia and hosts Italy, with all games played at Stadio Di Monigo, in Treviso.

Scotland will first take on Wales on Saturday 25 June (kick off 4pm), before taking on Italy on Thursday 30 June (kick off 7pm).

They will finish their pool stages matches against Georgia on Wednesday 6 July (kick off 4pm) before playing one cross-pool match on Tuesday 12 July, with the opponent being determined by placings in the pools.

Scotland U20 Head Coach Kenny Murray said: “The Summer Series gives us an excellent opportunity to give our players more experience on the international stage and to continue to improve our best young talent.

“Many of our players will have been playing in the FOSROC Super6 Sprint Series over the last couple of months, so they are fit and raring to go.

“This competition provides us with another opportunity before the next U20 Six Nations to test our players in fast-paced international rugby, which is vital for their development.”

Every game of the Under 20 Summer Series will be streamed via Six Nations Rugby U20 YouTube channel, meaning fans around the world will have the opportunity to watch some of the best teams and brightest rugby stars take to the pitch.
