Scottish fans are eager to see the World Champion Springboks in action fresh from clinching a series win against the British & Irish Lions, with confirmation today tickets to the match are now sold out.

Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend is looking forward to another chance to take on the Springboks following his stint as attack coach for the British & Irish Lions.

Townsend said: “This is great news that we have our first sell-out crowd in 20 months already for one our 2021 Autumn Nations Series matches.

“It always lifts the team when they know they will be playing in front of full crowd, and it means so much more that our fans are back supporting us for what will be a real test against the current World Champions.

“We have missed being able to represent our country in front of family, friends and our loyal supporters who have backed the team from their living rooms in recent months.

“All four ANS matches present us with an exciting and different challenge and as a group we are looking forward to maintaining our progression, in front of our home fans.”

The last time that Scotland took on South Africa was in 2018 before a full capacity BT Murrayfield crowd. The visitors emerged victorious after a closely fought contest.

In addition, 62,000 seats have now been sold for the second of the Autumn Nations Series matches, which sees Scotland play Australia on Sunday 7 November, with a limited selection of tickets still remaining.

Tickets are still available for Scotland’s other Autumn Nations Series fixtures against Tonga (Saturday 30 October) and Japan (Saturday 20 November).

Scottish Rugby has worked with the Scottish Government throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and, with all seats at BT Murrayfield available for Scotland’s forthcoming season of matches and capacity crowds are expected. Supporters can be reassured that all relevant safety and security measures will be in place to ensure BT Murrayfield continues to be a safe venue to visit.*

The Autumn Nations Series will be a thrilling way to welcome fans back to the stadium to support Scotland in person for the first time since before the pandemic. Scottish Rugby is working on some exciting proposals where some upcoming bands will be invited to perform in front of the fans to support the Scottish music industry in what has been a tough time due to the lack of live music.
