Photo by Paul Devlin / SNS Group Silver Saturday will feature seven fiercely contested finals throughout the day, with the best clubs from around the country converging on Scottish Gas Murrayfield and Hive Stadium for a day that promises try-scoring action.
Hillfoots RFC are the final team to book their place in the Women’s Plate Final following their semi-final victory. The full fixture schedule is now locked in, with the first match kicking off at 10am and the final match kicking off at 6.15pm.
The Scottish Cup, Sarah Beaney Cup, Men’s National League Cup final, Men’s and Women’s Shield finals and the Men’s National Bowl final will all also take place on the day.
In the men’s Scottish Cup Final, which kicks off at 3.30pm and is live on BBC ALBA, Currie Chieftains will meet Ayr RFC in what promises to be an enthralling contest on the pitch at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
Ayr RFC will look to continue their form into the final following a series of dominant performances, most recently seeing off last year’s champions GHA RFC convincingly in the semi-final.
Meanwhile, Watsonian FC and Hillhead Jordanhill RFC will compete for the Sarah Beaney Cup, which is also being shown live on BBC ALBA and kicks off at 6.15pm, in a repeat of last year’s closely contested final.
Watsonian FC won the epic 2025 final 39 – 38 and will now be looking to win their fourth trophy in a row, while Hills will be hoping to make amends after falling just a point short last season.
The day will kick-off at 10am at Hive Stadium with the Men’s Bowl Final between Kinloss Eagles RUFC and Hawick Linden RFC. Kinloss secured their spot with a 24 – 14 win over Madras Rugby, while Hawick Linden advanced with a 34 – 10 semi-final victory.
Hillhead Jordanhill RFC will compete on two fronts, as the Glasgow club’s second XV take part in the Women’s Shield Final taking on Broughton RFC. The match will be streamed live on the Scottish Rugby YouTube at 10am.
The equivalent Men’s Shield Final will feature Carrick RFC and Haddington RFC, with the South Ayrshire side booking their spot through a comfortable 27 -16 win at home against Broughton RFC. Haddington will be looking to cap an impressive campaign which also sees them sit top of the Arnold Clark East Region League Division 1.
GHK RFC will contest the Men’s National League Cup following an impressive route to the final which most recently saw them dispatch Cartha 44 – 26 in the semi-final alongside celebrating winning the National League Division 2.
They’ll now face Highland RFC who will make the journey down to the home of Scottish Rugby having had a trickier route to the final, narrowly seeing off Preston Lodge RFC and Dundee Rugby along the way.
Lenzie RFC will play Hillfoots RFC in the Women’s Plate Final. Lenzie secured their spot after defeating Annan RFC 8-7 in the semis, while Hillfoots beat Hamilton Rugby Club 39-31 in their semi-final to claim the last remaining spot at Silver Saturday.
Tickets are on sale for this year’s Silver Saturday event, so make sure to secure your spot as soon as possible.
