The event recognises and celebrates playing and coaching achievements at all levels of the game in Scotland from the International team to youth and schools. Scottish Rugby President, Andy Irvine, said: “Our extended rugby family does not often get the chance to come together and celebrate all that is good in our sport. Tonight has been one of those special occasions and my hearty congratulations go to all those award winners here this evening. Each accolade is as important as the next as every part of our game relies upon the other for its continued success, whether it’s grassroots, elite, refereeing or volunteering, everyone has a part to play in rugby.” The evening, hosted by the BBC’s Jill Douglas, saw 400 guests celebrate the sport.
