Arnold Clark Men’s Premiership feature match: Musselburgh v Watsonians
It’s do or die for Musselburgh’s season tonight on BBC ALBA as the seasiders take on high-flying Watsonian FC.
Anything less than a bonus point win for the men in blue and white will see them relegated to National 1 for the next season, while Watsonians could just about seal a top four berth with maximum points tonight.
Despite scoring 38 points against Selkirk last Saturday, it wasn’t enough for Musselburgh to secure the win – conceding 55 in the rescheduled fixture.
Watsonians, meanwhile, notched another important win – their 12th of the campaign – when they defeated Glasgow Hawks 26 – 10.
Catch tonight’s action in person or on BBC ALBA from 7:35pm at Stoneyhill in Musselburgh.
Five things to watch out for this weekend:
- Having opened up a five-point gap on second placed Heriot’s, Ayr host relegation contenders Edinburgh Accies.
- Heriot’s travel to Glasgow to take on the Hawks as they look to heap the pressure onto Ayr with three rounds remaining after tomorrow’s match.
- A Borders derby awaits Hawick, who travel 20 miles down the road to face a desperate Kelso side. Clinging on to ninth place, one spot above relegation, the black and white will bring even more energy to an already fiery Borders clash.
- Off the back of last round’s clutch 15 – 12 win over Edinburgh Accies, Marr look to keep the good times rolling and snag a fifth win of the season when they face mid-table Melrose.
- Selkirk will host Currie Chieftains in a tasty fourth-versus-fifth encounter for what may be the final say on the last semi-final berth. Currie goes in two points ahead, but Selkirk have won six of their previous seven matches.
