Ayrshire Bulls to play Glasgow Warriors in Inverness
2021 FOSROC Super6 Champions Ayrshire Bulls will play Glasgow Warriors on Friday evening [2nd September] at Caledonian Stadium in Inverness as part of Glasgow’s pre-season campaign.
Ayrshire Bulls were due to play Southern Knights in Melrose on Saturday, the round five FOSROC Super6 fixture will now be played on Saturday 10 September at The Greenyards.
Following this afternoon’s withdrawal of Glasgow’s original pre-season opponents Worcester Warriors, due to ongoing financial issues at the English Premiership club, it allows a further opportunity for Super6 players to be immersed into the professional rugby environment and play a full game against professional players, testing themselves at the next level.
Scottish Rugby’s Technical & Operations Director Stephen Gemmell said: “Scottish Rugby and Super6 are glad to be able to support Glasgow Warriors in fulfilling the fixture in Inverness on Friday evening, following the late withdrawal of Worcester Warriors.
“After a good performance last weekend in Super6, it’s great that Ayrshire Bulls will have the opportunity to test themselves against the next playing level in Scotland, whilst also assisting Glasgow Warriors in their preparations for the forthcoming season. I’d also like to thank Southern Knights for their support for this fixture by agreeing to move their home Super6 fixture to next weekend.”
