Busy Weekend Of Rugby Action Ahead

The RaboDirect PRO12 may be in hibernation this weekend but there’s still plenty of rugby action across the country.The Scotland national team take on Wales tomorrow in a sold out fixture at Murrayfield, looking for their third win on the bounce for the first time in the Six Nations. There are six Warriors in the starting line-up and six on the bench, with Duncan Weir making his first start at fly-half and Ryan Wilson included in the matchday 23 for the first time.Scottish Rugby is also hosting four representative and age-grade fixtures throughout the country. Tonight sees Scotland Club XV return to Ayr RFC’s ground Millbrae to take on their Irish counterparts. The fixture kicks off at 7.30pm and is free.Mark Bennett, Jonny Gray and Adam Ashe are all starting for Scotland under-20 when they play Wales under-20 in Inverness this evening.On Sunday the Scotland Women’s team will take on Wales Women at our very own Scotstoun Stadium. Entry is free and the game kicks-off at 2pm.Clubs from Glasgow North and Glasgow South are participating in a festival of rugby in the West Regional S1 and S2 Festivals on Sunday. 50 teams from over 30 clubs will be taking part in the fair play tournament at five venues – Clydebank, Cartha Queen’s Park, GHA, Whitecraigs and Paisley.Around 20 players from the Glasgow Warriors will be attending throughout the day and will be giving out ‘Player of the Day Awards’, signing autographs and taking pictures with supporters.
