Some 18 awards have been handed out at the annual Scottish Rugby Awards Dinner, at BT Murrayfield Stadium, recognising the impressive playing efforts and selfless off-field commitments of the many people involved in rugby throughout Scotland.   Scottish Rugby’s head of clubs and schools, Nick Rennie, said: Well done to all this evening’s winners.Each person and organisation who has received an award tonight deserves to be recognised and on behalf of all at Scottish Rugby thank you for all your hard work in ensuring we have a thriving and growing game throughout Scotland.The RBS Club of the Season went to Marr, who won RBS Championship A and were promoted for their fourth consecutive season.  Their development work and strong links with local secondary school, Marr College, championed by development officer, Rory McGee was also a factor in their success.Marr President, Kevin Quinn, said: It is an absolute delight for the club to be recognised and it is credit to our hard work and effort put in by everyone.  Four league wins now and each year the players keep responding to a very high standard.  The boys are seeking their own challenges as individuals and a collective and continue to rise to the tasks in front of them.  They keep on improving under the direction of coaches Craig Redpath and Paul Burke.We are providing the players with opportunities to enjoy the game at a high standard.  Success breeds appetite to play and we’re delighted with the amount of boys coming through the youth and into the senior squads.Capital side, Murrayfield Wanderers scooped the RBS Women’s Club of the Season for an inspiring showing and a return to former glories in the Sarah Beaney Cup after a two-year rebuilding period.  This year was the tenth time they have picked up the prestigious trophy.Scottish Rugby’s top coaching awards were handed to John Dalziel of Melrose and Gordon Kotze of Ayr respectively.The Caledonia Best Coach of the Season award marked a great first term as head coach for the former Scotland Club International and 7s cap, Dalziel, who led his team to RBS Premiership glory back in March and the Kings of the Sevens title, in April.  He said:It’s brilliant to be recognised as an individual, but I collect this award on behalf of the club and the team.  The league was a collective effort and in addition to this we won the sevens circuit, showing our attitude was right.  At times we showed resilience and we all showed we had a collective focus and that for me is Melrose. Kotze was handed the BT Sport Youth Coach of the Season accolade for his generous commitment to the growth and strength of the under-18 game in Ayr.  Kotze has built a strong side that this year have won the inaugural Scottish Rugby Youth League and reached the final of the National Youth League Cup.Kotze said: It has been an unbelievable season for us at Ayr Youth and I can’t extend my thanks to the support provided by the whole club.  From the parents, to the coaches, to all the rest of the volunteers at Millbrae.  We have really good structures in place to support the talent coming through.400+ gather at BT Murrayfield for club celebrationThe Referee of the Season and Ginger Grouse Spirit of Rugby awards were handed to Graeme Wells of the Edinburgh Referees’ Society and Colin McCulloch of Murrayfield Wanderers, respectively.   Wells has developed at pace in 2014 in his work with the whistle.  As well as officiating the under-18 Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Cup final, a FIRA international fixture, an under-20 Six Nations match, a Club International fixture and a British and Irish Cup tie, Wells topped the season by being accepted to the Six Nations’ Referee Development Squad.   McCulloch won his award for 33 years of service to the game in and around the capital, as the Edinburgh under-18 Regional League secretary and his work as a Scotland age-grade selector with the under-16 group more recently.   As well as the clubs of the season, RBS, Scottish Rugby’s principal partner, presented a series of trophies to players around the country.  A list of the players of the season can be seen below. Winning the RBS Club Volunteer of the Season award was Musselburgh’s second XV manager and coach, Robert Walls, with Boroughmuir’s Ross Bradford collecting the RBS Try of the Season award.  His winning score can be  seen at www.youtube.com/scottishrugbyonline.  The final decision followed a vote by fans on the RBS Scottish Rugby Facebook page.   Back in March it was Walls’ one-to-one work with his team’s front-row and his commitment to personal development that impressed the judging panel.Walls said: We’re a club and it means a lot to collect this award for everyone at Musselburgh.  I’ll be sharing this award with
