Scottish Rugby is rewarding clubs to the tune of£32,000 in recognition of the role they have played in developing players who have gone on to win full-time or apprentice contracts with professional teams. Some 28 clubs, drawn from throughout the Premiership, National Leagues and youth structures, are sharing the monies, calculated on the basis of £500 a year for players on full-time contracts awarded over a period of seven years and£100 a year for those on apprentice contracts awarded over a period of five years.Scottish Rugby is rewarding clubs to the tune of£32,000 in recognition of the role they have played in developing players who have gone on to win full-time or apprentice contracts with professional teams. SRU Head of Community Rugby, Colin Thomson, said: “Scottish Rugby recognises the contribution that the clubs and many of their volunteers have made in the development of these players. We hope that these payments can be reinvested in the clubs’ development structures including their support of local schools rugby.
