East selects complete convincing aggregate win over age-grade rivals
The select U16 and U18 sides from the East of Scotland completed a convincing aggregate win over their age-grade rivals from the west yesterday.
The pair of victories completed back-to-back doubles for the junior sides who won 40-24 (U16) and 34-14 (U18) at Inverleith in Edinburgh, having won 29-22 and 41-21 respectively the previous weekend in Aberdeen.
Angus Hoffie (2), Callum Anderson, Rhys Tait, Christian Townsend, Douglas Blood were the try-scorers of the East U16 – converted by Kieran Clark (2) and Christian Townsend (3), with the response from the west coming from Peter Wallwork, Gabriel Smith, Luke Armstrong and Thomas McGuire, with Luke Armstrong adding the extras.
Final Score after two legs – East U16 69-46 West U16
East U18 ran in an impressive five tries in their contest with Robbie McCallum, Nathan Brown, Kieran Watt, Cammy Brown and Rory Jackson all crossing the whitewash, with Paul Cunningham and Cameron Scott (2), with Cunningham also biscecting hte post with a penalty.
The response from the West U18 came from Rory Jackson and Ross Milne tries, with Lachlan Kelly converting both scores.

The next round of fixtures, which lead to international age-grade selection for the 2017/18 season, will see the East and West age-grade select sides go head-to-head again on Sunday 26 November at Oriam.
