Family fun at Rugby Park as Scotland come to Kilmarnock
22 Nov 2016
The Scotland national rugby team will be kicking off at Rugby Park on Saturday and are inviting families to come and enjoy the action. After two gripping and action packed matches at BT Murrayfield against Australia and Argentina in recent weeks the boys in blue face Georgia in their final Autumn Test Series match.Captain Greig Laidlaw, star full-back Stuart Hogg and Glasgow Warriors captain Jonny Gray are all lined up to run out at Rugby Park giving local fans the chance to see their heroes up close.Tickets for the match are selling well and in keeping with rugby’s inclusive approach the best deal for families sees two adults and two children able to buy a family ticket for just£40.Scotland captain Greig Laidlaw said: “All the boys are looking forward to running out at Rugby Park for what will be tough game against a strong Georgia side.”In home games the crowd can often help spur you on, so we’re encouraging everyone to come along to give their support.Playing at a more intimate ground means fans are even closer to the action, so it promises to be an exciting afternoon and one we are really looking forward to.”Kilmarnock Director, Michael Johnston added: “We are delighted to be hosting the Scotland v Georgia match at Rugby Park on Saturday. This will be the second time the Scotland team has played an Autumn Test at our venue, bringing with them an enthusiastic crowd. Attracting these matches generates important revenue for local businesses as well as Kilmarnock Football Club and we hope to further develop our partnership with the Scottish Rugby Union in the future. The players love our 3G pitch which was the first in the world to host a full rugby union international in 2014.Scotland has previously played Tonga in Kilmarnock in 2014 and Glasgow Warriors contested two matches to packed crowds at the ground last season as well.Scotland vs Georgia kicks off at 2:30pm on Saturday November 26th.Family tickets cost£40 for two adults and two children and are available to buy until midnight on Thursday November 24th.Other ticket options are available and can be bought through the Scottish Rugby website – http://www.scottishrugby.org.
