30 & 31 October Tennent’s Leagues 2021/22 | Gallery

A slightly quieter week of grassroots rugby due to adverse weather, but there are still plenty of fantastic photos to get stuck into from the Tennent's Leagues taken on 30 & 31 October 2021!

Tennent’s Premiership and National Leagues

Just one game was played this weekend in the Women’s Tennent’s Premiership, as Corstorphine Cougars hosted Watsonians at Union Park. The visitors winning performance over the current table-toppers has edged them into second place with 22 points, just one point behind Cougars. Watsonians inside-centre Briar McNamara was named Player of the Match. Full time score, 8-17.

In the Men’s Tennent’s Premiership, Currie Chieftains now sit with 35 points in the table standings after beating Musselburgh 61-0 at home. Elsewhere, Edinburgh Academical edged a win over Glasgow Hawks by just 2 points. Full time score, 36-34.

And finally, in Tennent’s National 2 Falkirk enjoyed a win at home against Preston Lodge. Falkirk number eight, Gregor Dodd was named Player of the Match. Full time score, 21-15.

Tennent’s Caledonia Leagues

The only game to take place this weekend in the Women’s Caledonia Midlands/East league was between Strathmore and Dunfermline. Due to waterlogged pitches at Inchmacoble Park, the fixture was held at Brechin Rugby Club. Scoring tries for Strathmore were Mhairi Dempster, Niamh Feighan and Kirsten Stevens. Skipper Chloe Fraser successfully converted three kicks. And scoring for Dunfermline was front-row, Rowan McNeil. Full time score, 31-5.

In Caledonia Midlands Division 3, Bannockburn hosted Waid Academy FP. A mere three points stood between the sides at full time as the hosts claimed the win. Bannockburn full-back Tommy Coyle was named Player of the Match. Full time score, 15-12.

Up in the north-east of the country, Huntly made the short trip across to Inverurie to face Garioch at Kellands Park in Caledonia North Division 3. Huntly picked up their second win of the season, securing the win by a narrow four points, 10-14.

Tennent’s East Leagues

In the Tennent’s East Reserve Division 1, Currie Chieftains A hosted Musselburgh 2XV. Securing the win, 13-19 Musselburgh 2XV now sit second in the table with 34 points after eight fixtures.
