Connecting Scott Cummings and our Junior Supporters

4 Mar 2021

With the support of our Principal Partner BT, our Junior Supporter Club members Ollie and Euan got the chance to connect with camp and meet Scotland and Glasgow Warriors second-row Scott Cummings.

Scott Cummings became the 1105th player to represent
Scotland against France in the 2019 Summer Test before being selected for the
2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. He has since featured in each of Scotland’s
matches throughout a truncated 2020 and continued that streak into 2021,
beginning with the Calcutta Cup victory over England at Twickenham.

Who was your favourite player when you were 5 years old? (Ollie, Age 5)

One of my youngest memories is watching Jason White win at BT Murrayfield, I think I was 8 or 9 and that was one of my favourite games seeing Scotland win and lift the Calcutta Cup.

What is the best game you have played in? (Euan, Age 11)

My favourite game for Glasgow Warriors so far was getting to play in the Guinness PRO14 final at Celtic Park and then for Scotland making my debut out in France in 2019.

Who is your favourite team to play against in the Six Nations? (Ollie, Age 5)

I would say England, I look forward to the rivalry and it is always exciting.

What is the team talk like at half-time? (Euan, Age 11)

It usually depends how we are doing, we will have a few minutes to ourselves and then I will catch up with the other second-rows and back-rows to discuss line-outs and then Gregor will come in and we will have a talk and analysis of things we have seen the opposition do, but I try to stay as calm as possible within this time.

What made you get into rugby? (Euan, Age 11)

I have loved rugby since I was young. I loved playing with my friends every Saturday or Sunday morning playing mini rugby and having a laugh and good time on the pitch…and I was terrible at football!
