FOSROC Super6 Team of the Tournament 2019/20
The inaugural FOSROC Super6 tournament completed all ten rounds of the regular season before the covid-19 restrictions were introduced.
Super6 Head Coaches were asked to put forward players who have stood out to make a team of the tournament. The only caveat being they were not able to select any player from their own squad.
From the players put forward our Tournament Director Stephen Gemmell and On-Field Lead Sean Lineen sat down to select the final match-day 23 that make up the 2019/20 FOSROC Super6 Team of the Tournament.

Props
1.Grant Shiells (Southern Knights)
Co-vice-captain of the Borders side, the experienced prop is a solid and dependable scrummager, he made nine appearances for the Melrose based side.
3.Murphy Walker (Stirling County)
The FOSROC Scottish Rugby Academy Stage 3 prop has proven to be strong at scrum and in the loose, he has made eight starts for Stirling County this season.
Hooker
2. Reynor Kennedy (Stirling County)
Kennedy is one of only seven players in the tournament to start all ten games for their club. Described by the other coaches he is Mr Consistent and a leader from the front and joint second in the top try scorers table with five tries from ten games.
Second Rows
4. Marshall Sykes (Ayrshire Bulls)
The young second row has been an aggressive ball carrier and assertive tackler. The FOSROC Scottish Rugby Academy Stage 3 player made eight appearances for the Ayrshire Bulls.
5. Jamie Hodgson (Watsonians Rugby)
The Watsonians second row ruled the lineouts, another who consistently performed well and one of the seven players in the tournament to earn ten starts from 10 games. Hodgson is a partnership player with Edinburgh Rugby.
Flankers
6. Iain Wilson (Heriot’s Rugby)
The Heriot’s captain is described as a dynamic player with huge work-rate across the park, scored two tries for the Goldenacre side in eight appearances.
7. Conor Boyle (Watsonians Rugby)
The flanker is a master of the turnover, energetic carrier and defender he is a true openside who made seven appearances for Watsonians before representing Scotland in the U20 Six Nations.
Number Eight
8. Morgan Innes (Watsonians Rugby)
The Myreside number eight has been a consistent strong presence across the park especially with ball in hand, he made six appearances for Watsonians this season.
Scrumhalf
9. Andrew Simmers (Heriot’s Rugby)
The young half-back has been quick to get ball away from the breakdown or make a break in play in all eight appearances for Heriot’s this season.
Stand-off
10. Lee Millar (Watsonians Rugby)
The Watsonians captain has shown true leadership this season, he has been instrumental in directing his team around the pitch. Another of the seven players to start all 10 games this season he finished top points scorer in the tournament with 84 points.
Centres
12. Cameron Hutchison (Heriot’s Rugby)
The Heriot’s centre has earned himself three FOSROC Player of the Match awards this season. He is a powerful runner who always got over the gain-line scoring three tries from eight appearances.
13. Joe Reynolds (Watsonians Rugby)
Reynolds is described as a clever player with a great range of skills who was able to bring out the best out in other players around him. The Watsonians centre made nine appearances scoring two tries.
Wingers
11. Jordan Edmunds (Boroughmuir Bears)
The experienced Boroughmuir winger is a strong runner who knows his way to the try line. The speedster scored five tries from seven appearances.
14. Rory McMichael (Heriot’s Rugby)
The Scottish age-grade winger has been reliable in attack and defence out wide. He has made eight appearances for Heriot’s scoring two tries in the process.
Full back
15. Ollie Smith (Ayrshire Bulls)
The Scotland U20 full-back grew into the season with Ayrshire Bulls. He has been an outstanding broken-field runner scoring two tries from seven appearances with FOSROC Player of the Match award against Watsonians in round four.
Replacements
16. Sam Kitchen (Ayrshire Bulls)
The hooker has a reliable throw and keeps himself busy around the field, he finished the season as top try scorer (eight from ten appearances and nine starts)
17. Gordon Reid (Ayrshire Bulls)
The 2019 Rugby World Cup squad loose-head never took a backward step, his experience showed on the pitch and at scrum-time.
18. Dan Gamble (Heriot’s Rugby)
The young prop is a dynamic and strong scrummager, Gamble made six appearances for Heriot’s during the tournament.
19. Cameron Henderson (Stirling County)
Henderson has been a good lineout operator and athletic runner all season. The FOSROC Scottish Rugby Academy stage 3 player made six appearances for Stirling County before representing Scotland U20 in their Six Nations Championship.
20. Jack Maclean (Heriot’s Rugby)
The back-row player is a busy, tough and aggressive defender who made eight appearances for the Goldenacre side.
21. Struan Hutchison (Southern Knights)
The half-back is skilful and clever at scrum-half, he can also play at stand-off if required. Hutchinson made nine appearances for the Southern Knights scoring nine points from three conversions and three penalties.
22. Ross Thompson (Ayrshire Bulls)
Peter Murchie put his faith in the young stand-off as he took the place of experienced Ayr favourite Frazer Climo. Thompson used left foot well and kept the pack going forward, he scored 61 points for Bulls and earned himself two FOSROC Player of the Match awards from ten appearances.
23. Ciaran Whyte (Southern Knights)
Whyte is a versatile back three player, an elusive runner he scored four tries for the Southern Knights and played a part in all ten of their games.
