After a fierce season of competition, it's time to look back at the winners of the inspiresport Leagues and Conferences in 2022/23.

With 21 competitions running throughout the season, it has been a bumper occasion for youth players participating in Scottish Rugby’s Schools and Youth Conferences, which are sponsored by inspiresport.

inspiresport are the UK’s leading provider of youth sports development tours and offer professional coaching at some of Europe’s top professional clubs and federations for the benefit of players of all abilities. As part of Destination Sport Group, inspiresport can provide training opportunities at world-class facilities around the globe.

The ongoing partnership sees inspiresport bring tours to Scotland, providing young players with opportunities to engage with Scottish Rugby coaches, facilities and stadium tours to inspire the next generation of players.

Reflecting on the season, Gav Scott, Scottish Rugby’s Director of Rugby Development said: “It has been fantastic to watch players across the youth game continue to access long-standing and meaningful competition this season which encourages participation, allows players to play in competitive environments, and affords additional game opportunities for players.

“I would like to share my sincere thanks to the coaches, parents, teachers and volunteers who have contributed to such a successful season. Our competitions are able to flourish with the incredible amount of work done by the people in the background getting kids on the pitch.

“Whilst not every team will lift silverware, it is important that we recognise the growth and development of players and teams throughout the season, all of which can be very proud of their achievements.”

Steve Butchart, CEO of inspiresport added: “This has been our first year as sponsors of the league and conference competitions and we have been impressed with the standard of rugby and the spirit in which the games have been played.

“We’d like to congratulate each of the conference winning teams on their success this season but also thank all the clubs who have participated. Our team have enjoyed watching you play, and we hope to see many more of the fixtures later in the year when the competitions return in their revised format.”

Former North Berwick pupils Cammy Hutchison and Rory Darge presented the U16s team with their winners board and silverware from the inspiresport East Schools Conference A.
