Men’s and Women’s Tennent’s Premiership Preview: Saturday 7 January

After a break over the festive period, both the men’s and women’s Tennent’s Premiership gets back underway this weekend.

In the men’s Tennent’s Premiership, league leaders Hawick travel to reigning champions Marr. Hawick head into the new year still unbeaten in the league and four points clear at the top.

A loss for Hawick could see Currie Chieftains go into first place if they win at home to sixth placed Glasgow Hawks.

Third placed Edinburgh Academical host bottom side Musselburgh, who picked up a second win of the season away to Selkirk last time out.

Should Accies lose, fourth placed Selkirk could climb above them with a win away to GHA.

And in an important clash near foot of the table, ninth placed Heriot’s Blues could climb above eight placed Jed-Forest with a win when the two sides clash at Goldenacre.

This week, all the fixtures kick off on Saturday at 2pm.

In the women’s Tennent’s Premiership, three games previously postponed for frozen pitches will be played.

League leaders Stirling County travel to second placed Corstorphine. Both sides have won 10 of their 11 games so far, but six extra bonus points guarantees that Stirling will be top come the playoffs.

Garioch will be looking for a first win of the season when they travel to fourth placed Heriot’s Blues.

And towards the bottom of the table, sixth placed Cartha Queens Park travel to fifth placed Hillhead Jordanhill.

All three fixtures take place on Saturday at 2pm.
