What they said

Head Coach Gregor Townsend said: “Disappointment has to fuel them, what we did has to motivate that we can deliver a better performance next week.”

Argentina’s form

Michael Cheika’s team are 6th in world after a year where they have beaten Scotland twice, beat the All Blacks in New Zealand for only the second time in New Zealand and third time overall, and started their Autumn Nations Series with a win over England at Twickenham.

England 29-30 Argentina – highlights
Boffelli’s kicking game was crucial as Argentina came back from 16-12 at halftime to edge this game. He made 7 out of 8 kicks and scored one try, earning 25 points. Argentina made 145 tackles and had just 38.1% possession. They got 1 point ahead with 10 minutes to go and clung to that lead. Carreras also got a try. Boffelli’s kicks combine huge range with accuracy.

Wales 20-13 Argentina – highlights
Wales outplayed Argentina to get a win. Boffelli had 100% kicking accuracy but only three opportunities at the kicking tee. Their tactical, in-game kicking was not strong.

Scotland form

9th in the world. 6 day turnaround.

Scotland 14-15 Australia – highlights
Disappointing.

Scotland 28-12 Fiji – highlights
While not their strongest showing, Scotland ground out a win. They also out-offloaded the team arguably most known for offloads, with 7 to Fiji’s six (two of which were for Jack Dempsey).

Scotland 23-31 New Zealand – highlights
Winning at half time and kept the All Blacks scoreless for over 50 minutes which is no mean feat but struggled to capitalise on opportunities, with the ball being inches from the line three times.
