Head Coach Gregor Townsend said: “We feel this team deserves another opportunity. There is cohesion, but there is going to be improvement too.
We are fighting to build on our win last week and to be better.”
Welsh Head Coach Warren Gatland said: “Scotland have some experience in that squad, so it’s going to be a great encounter and it’s a good test of the improvements that we can make from the things that we need to tidy up from last week.”

- Scotland made the most tackles of any side in the opening round of this year’s Guinness Six Nations (214) and recorded the best tackle success rate (91%); Wales made the second most tackles (184) and recorded the most dominant tackles in Round 1 (23, Scotland 2nd with 18).
- Scotland’s Duhan van der Merwe beat 11 defenders in Round 1 of this year’s Six Nations, the most by any player in a match in the Championship since van der Merwe himself beat 13 against Italy in 2021.
- Scotland’s Finn Russell made 18 carries in the opening round of this year’s Guinness Six Nations, the joint most of any player (level with Lewis Ludlam and Ellis Genge), the only fly half to make more carries in a Six Nations fixture was current Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend, who made 19 against Italy in 2000.
